I’m Lynsey, and I’m officially 100% open (as defined by this rigorous quiz at the Science Museum). I blog about writing, depression, education… and anything else that floats my boat.
I’ve been lucky enough to win the Bridport Short Story Prize and a Canongate Prize for New Writing. In 2013 I was one of the Escalator Literature winners chosen by Writers’ Centre Norwich.
I lecture in Contextual Studies at Norwich University of the Arts and chair a community writing group, ScriptEast, at Cinema City (also in Norwich).
Well, as a CV for a creative writer, they hardly come more impressive than this do they. I will keep my eye on your Blog, of course, and wait for news of your first novel. Coming from such a pedigree, I suspect it will make an excellent read. I too like books crammed with elegant pessimism otherwise called ‘classics, and also play the ‘Joanna’ although many of those who have heard my efforts wish I didn’t. Let us hope my book is better received!

Thank you, Peter. I am blushing. Never heard you play the Joanna, but pretty confident your book will be well received 🙂

If you think of my playing as being something like ‘Variations on a piece by Sir Dentist Drill, you will be somewhere near the experience

Ah yes, I’ve played that one a few times when I haven’t practised for a while…
